Ultimate Blog Party 2012!
Welcome to Waterview Homeschool!
For my current followers, this is a intro post for anyone who wants to check out my blog during the biggest link up I've ever seen (and probably the biggest one out there!) held at 5 Minutes for Mom
For those stopping by for the first time today HI! I'm Sandra (most often Sam online) and this is my (mostly) homeschooling blog.
People in my blog are my hubby, Lee, my kids, Olivia (almost 3), Brianna (almost 10), Isaac (almost 13), step-son Dylan (15), my mom (who lives with us), and also my niece Tanya (11) and sister Lisa (my partner in crime and co-teacher).
I'm a Secular homeschooler and my sister is a Christian homeschooler. Both of us are hugely open minded to both sides of the coin and while you'll find mostly Secular content here (though I will never bash or put down anything religious), sometimes there's Christian content. Both Secular and Christian followers are welcome :)
I have been homeschooling for a year and a half with my daughters (the boys live with their "other" parents) and my niece just joined us at home in February. We're very eclectic and generally relaxed. We do a lot of interest led, but also making sure the "necessary evils" are covered. I do "Tot School" with my toddler and will be blending in Preschool skills over the next few weeks as a lot of the tot school skill level stuff is starting to bore her (I swear she's 2 going on 10!). We school year round and don't follow set grade levels. Brianna and Tanya are both doing various work from grades 3-7 depending on the subject and topic.
I hope to find a bunch of new blogs to follow and have some new followers myself once the party is over! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi, Sandra! I'm Michelle, just stopping in from the UBP! I'm also a homeschooling mom, and I also used to homeschool my nieces and nephew! My husband and his siblings were homeschooled, so when my sister-in-law lived with us for a while, I homeschooled her kids. We sometimes do year round schooling -- that is, we take breaks when it suits *our* schedule, and not the public school's schedule, LOL. I do try to have at least some time off in the summer, just so the kids can play with their neighborhood friends. (Although, really, they're done with school by lunchtime anyway!)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day!
