Day in the Life of Waterview Homeschool

This week, the final week, on iHomeschool Network's Annual Back to School Blog Hop is a "Day in the Life of" post. I love doing these. I haven't done one in forever though!

8am - alarm goes off. I am NOT a morning person and even 8am is way too early for me. Thankfully, Lee works nights and is home before Joshua wakes up, or, if I'm extra lucky, Joshua will wake me up at like 6am *grumble* I poked Olivia, who is not surprisingly in my bed. She doesn't even flinch. I come down stairs to find that Brianna's alarm has been going off for the last half an hour. I need an earthquake bed for her or something. Pour coffee and head outside to my porch to smoke and coffee in silence. My mom, Grandma, has already left for work.

8:30am - I come inside, Brianna's alarm is not still going but she's not up here. Olivia is also not out of bed. I send Lee upstairs to wake Olivia and head to the basement to drag Brianna out of bed. She fakes being dead. Dude, there is not enough coffee flowing through me yet to think that's funny.

8:50am - Breakfast is finally happening for the girls. Joshua on the other hand has been awake 2 hours and is happily "cooking" his sippy on the stove (placing it on the cold burner and calling it hot).

9:05am - Joshua's sippy might be "hot" but his toes are like icecubes and I refuse to turn on the furnace this early in the fall. Operation find-everyone's-slippers begins.

9:15am - veg fest before school. Since it's Monday, Lee didn't work last night (he works tonight though), so the little kids pile on Daddy in the living room. Brianna and I hang out on the porch, being kitten perches and discuss what's on the agenda for the day and I fill in chore lists for the week in their agendas.

9:45am - meltdown begins over the fact that it's not snack time yet. Cue Joshua's most pitiful look. He is temporarily soothed by a blanket fort to watch Brianna play her game.

10am - let the schoolwork commence! Nope, wait... let the hang out in the bathroom for long periods of time commence....

10:25am - school actually starts. Thomas starts on Netflix for Joshua. Lee hides in our bedroom to watch non-preschooler tv.

10:40 am - I cover Brianna's eyes to enter her laptop password while she's on her phone doing DuoLingo. "She chocolate eats" is now the French phrase of the day. Olivia is excited to see seasonal (fall) worksheets in her pile.

11:30 - Laundry on the line! Joshua loves to help Brianna with the clothes pins.

11:50am - Olivia is done her paper schoolwork. Since it's almost lunch break, she just breaks early. She is loving her newly allowed privilege of cutting with a steak knife, so cut up Joshua some strawberries for lunch

12pm - lunch break! Also, mail call! Brianna got a card from the local organizer of the Terry Fox Run with this year's pin.

12:30pm - back to work. Brianna starts with a load of dishes, Olivia starts with her Reading Eggs and I get to work with Joshua's schoolwork.

1:10 pm - Joshua's (and Lee's lol) nap time means my work time. While the girls work on schoolwork and chores, I head up to my office to sew zippers and necklines into car seat ponchos. Right now is my bust season in general but also the only time of year I really sell car seat ponchos. So add prepping for Christmas sales and shows to roughly 40-50 ponchos means I'm pretty busy!

2:50pm - read aloud time. Today we are reading from our biology unit on respiration and our novel "The Family Under The Bridge".

3:20pm - reading is done so I go to wake up Joshua. I find him napping under the bed, silly boy. Under-bed napping apparently makes a grumpy boy. Brianna tried to cheer him up some by making a train track for him.

3:40pm - Olivia and I finished her apple experiment. It was her first long term science experiment so she was excited for it to finally be done.

4pm - school work and most chores are done. Electronics time for the girls. Olivia hides in a blanket for to play Minecraft and Brianna plays a bunch of games for Joshua (who wasn't terribly impressed with Brianna's track building skills and went back to being grumpy). I do some tidying up so I can get some freezer cooking done. When Joshua is finally less cranky, Brianna joins me to make Sausage Breakfast Muffins.

6pm - Brianna got ready for Pathfinders and then researched how to tie her scarf properly. She was so proud to have figured it out! She noticed that the videos she found on youtube were using the older style scarf (uniforms changed recently), so once she perfects it, she plans to make a youtube video with the current uniform.

6:30pm - Brianna is dropped off at Pathfinders. I come home and finish making the gazillion muffins (and ate about 348765 of them!). I manage to get Olivia to consume something of nutrients other than cereal (extreme picky issues here) - homemade apple honey oatmeal!

8pm - Lee and I went to Brianna's Pathfinders meeting for parent planning. They announced the current planned international trip - ENGLAND! Mommy is massively jealous. In 2019, Brianna will be able to go to England for approximately a week with the Pathfinders and Rangers to the Pax Lodge. Brianna is insanely nervous as she hates sleeping away from home, but in the next 3 years she will have a zillion opportunities to sleep away with Guides.

8:50pm - back home. Joshua and Lee have gone to snuggle to bed. Olivia cleans the living room and Brianna started her garbage and dishes chores.

8:55pm - for some reason, Brianna's alarm started randomly sounding. Why on earth it would be set for this time, who knows....

9:30pm - bedtime! I tuck Olivia in, Joshua's still awake so I snuggle with him for a few. I send Brianna downstairs to write in her Pathfinders Journal and park my butt on the computer to veg out on facebook.

10pm - Tell Brianna it's lights out.

10:10pm - kick Lee off to work and hang out on my porch with the neighbour, talking about Brianna's England trip.

10:40pm - I packed all the sausage muffins into freezer bags and found room for them in the freezer. That's a lot of freaking muffins!

10:50pm - I feel sorry for my American friends after reading the aftermath of the Presidential Debate.

11pm - I work on some online stuff for work, talking to customers, organizing coop buys.

11:30pm - Well past my bedtime...

Thanks for reading our newest Day in the Life post. I can't wait to read everyone else's on iHomeschool!

Day in the Life

I haven't done one of these in a while (last one was here)

This Day in the Life starts at midnight, since I was still up, dyeing (is that a word? lol) and cutting my hair. Yeah, I'm a night owl. Thankfully though, I'm lucky enough to have a hubby, a morning person, who happens to get off work shortly before the other morning person (Olivia) gets up. Meaning me and the other not morning person (Brianna) can sleep in.

2:08am - I go to bed

6:52am - Olivia wakes up and calls for either me or Lee. Thankfully I hear Lee talking to her so I can go back to sleep

8:59am - one minute before my alarm goes off, the phone rings *grumble, grumble*

9:02am - ship Lee off to bed and try to figure out why Olivia shirt is sopping wet

9:04am - I sit down with a coffee and discuss with Brianna whether she's really still sick or if she wants to just play the DS again all day. Not having to go back to bed wins and Brianna finds breakfast.

9:13am - talk to my sister and find out the my BIL is driving Tanya to school today. He says they're leaving at 9:45... whether that's am or pm, who knows (my BIL is notoriously slooooow)

9:33am - send Brianna to get dressed and do her morning chores and eat a bagel. Olivia's curled up on the couch watching her shows.

10:02am - The girls sit and play the DS together while we wait for Tanya to get here. I get working on printing out school stuff

10:06am - Wooo! BIL wasn't as late as usual and Tanya is here.

10:08am - Olivia tries to bounce her face off the floor so we make things all better by "feeding" the ferrets (shoving bits of cat food through the cage bars)

10:15am - The girls settle down to fixing their longitude/latitude chart for their Mystery Class from last week. Olivia insists on doing her school work too

10:32am - Tot School is ditched for Toopy and Binoo

10:34am - tell the girls that they better get school done so we can go to our field trip (which probably wasn't the best idea cause now they're yapping about the field trip instead of doing school lol)

10:37am - somehow, they lapse into talking about Terry Fox....

10:49am - explaining to the girls about their Mystery Class journal page (in which they predict what their photo period graphs will look like at the end of the month) that that's only 2 weeks from now and not the summertime so they should make educated guesses based on the current photo periods and now much they would move by the end of the month (meaning we probably won't suddenly jump from 11.5 hrs of sunlight to 15 lol)

11:26 am - Finally starting the girls on other school work, Tanya, English and Brianna, math.

11:30am - Olivia demands a red crayon to do school work in her notebook then *needs* to show Grandma her sunglasses

11:40am - Handwriting practice talks about the Wright Brothers so we head off on a mini rabbit trail about the first flights.

11:48am - Hook Olivia up with a peanut butter sandwich and a bowl of yogurt for lunch, big surprise, the yogurt gets put on the sandwich

11:52am - my sister shows up to go to school (I live next door to her college)

12:04pm - set up the girls with their lunches and have them continue school work since they piddled around all morning taking 2 hours to do 30 minutes of work.

12:22pm - argue with Olivia that the sunshine streaming into her room at nap time isn't too dark, but too bright lol

12:28pm - Let Lee know that we're leaving and will be back before Olivia gets up so he can still lounge in bed.

12:36pm - Leave for the Invertebrates Workshop and the Ontario Power Generation Visitors Center

2:04pm - Back from the OPG center. The girls got OPG balloons and run balloon races through the kitchen.

2:13pm - Back to school work. The girls are finally done their review/assessment stuff and are working through actual curriculum.

3:04pm - random discussion on the difference between telescopes and microscopes (which has a lot to do with the math they're working on lol)

3:26pm - Olivia gets up and wants to wake up Daddy and have a snack. The girls hear about Olivia's snack and suddenly fall hungry

3:52pm - The girls each earned an extra page of school work for their dawdling

4:08pm - FINALLY onto this week's Geography

4:36pm - My sister comes back from school and we discuss her class while the girls screw around do their work

6:02pm - Tanya is finally done her work and goes home

6:06pm - Olivia's balloon pops and she's soothed by doing her dinosaur pre-writing page

6:13pm - Olivia switches to tracing her name and coloring Dora shapes and with Brianna finally done she plays with the Canada magnet set

6:22pm - Brianna and Olivia declare snuggle time before supper to watch Backyardigans

6:40pm - supper time!

6:59pm - I reply to an email from The Canadian Homeschooler about putting together a blog post about homeschooling in Ontario

7:03pm - Olivia suckered Lee into watching cartoons in our bed and Brianna slooooowly got started on her evening chores.

7:08pm - actually paying attention to the tv (when it's not Toopy and Binoo on) lasted about 3 seconds longer than it normally did and Olivia's off to the tub while Brianna takes 6 years to do a load of dishes.

7:14pm - discussing with Brianna what 30 minutes of exercise a day really means.... ya know, swinging your legs off a chair while you daydream doesn't count...

7:27pm - Brianna's turn in the shower, she's on a 10 minute time limit or she stay in there til the water runs cold.

7:42pm - after braiding Olivia's hair she wants to play her game (ReadingEggs). She's still stuck on a sounding out lesson  so we switch to StarFall.

7:58pm - Olivia's off to snuggle with Daddy before bed (and con him into watching Cat in the Hat lol) and Brianna is making up her own version of Go Fish!

8:31pm - Olivia come down for "one more kiss" and Lee puts her to bed.

9:03pm - Brianna decides that she's going to exercise before bed and starts running in circles in the living room

9:34pm - Lee leaves for work

9:39pm - I ship Brianna off to bed and explain to Olivia that it's supposed to be dark in her room and no she doesn't need a flashlight.

9:45pm - I sit at my desk to check facebook and try to find Tanya an English curriculum that isn't book based (while I think book based curriculum is great, I prefer ones that CAN be used with books instead of one that MUST be used with books)

10:43pm - No luck in finding more than 2 worksheets for Tanya so far, but I did find 2 French sites (here and here) and a Catholic site for my sister....

10:52pm - Give up for the night and work on some marking from last week

11:57pm - Organize pictures and links for today's blog post

12:52am - off to bed!!

Not Back to School Blog Hop!

Not Back to School Blog Hop

I apparently missed the first 3 weeks of this :( But I'll try to squeeze in as much as possible!

Week One: My curriculum is a jumble of a little of this and a little of that. If you'd like to see what we're floating through, click on the Current Curriculum button above.

Week Two: We don't have a special area for school work, so it's wherever the girls plop their butts. Lately it's been the staircase

Week Three: My Homeschoolers:
Olivia, 2, tot school
Brianna, 9, Grades 3-6
Tanya, 11 (next month), Grade 3-6

Week Four: Day In The Life:

We live a laid back, take-it-as-we-go kind of life. Generally we're up by 8am, school by 10am, nap for Olivia by 1pm, supper by 6:30pm, school for Olivia somewhere in there, bed for Olivia by 7:30pm, bed for Brianna by 9:30pm, bed for me by midnight. However, everyday, at least one of the above doesn't happen when it's supposed to. Here's today:

8:26am - woooo everyone slept in, but now I hear the maaaaaamaaaaaa song coming from Olivia.

8:29am - I kick Brianna from bed since her cousin will be here shortly

8:31am - ahhhhh coffeeeeeee

8:32am - crap... the computer crashed overnight. I hate trying to figure this crap out first thing in the morning.

8:46 am - Tanya (my niece) shows up and claims her brother ate ALL the food in her house so can she eat breakfast here LOL

8:50am - send Brianna to change. You'd think after running every morning for the last 2 months she'd know she can't run in a calf length dress....

9:05am - Fighting Olivia out of the bathroom so grandma can take a shower, settle her down with Toupie and Binou (instant silence btw!)

9 35am - Trudge up the stairs to get dressed fighting with Olivia as to why she doesn't need to watch cartoons in my room while the same channel is playing in the living room.

9:40am - Mom gets called into work early so we have to go do our running around NOW. Olivia acts like she's never been outside before so we take her with and set the girls up to clean the toy room.

10:20am - We're back, and surprise, surprise, the girls have been piddling around *sigh*

10:45pm - Girls are finally done, off to running. Today, they are each running around the block 4 times per run, roughly 1 kilometer. Tanya broke her speed record twice, great job!

11:30am - Getting the girls off to their schoolwork.

11:31am - And the fight over location of schoolwork commences....

11:36am - And they end up in their usual spots *sigh*

11:55am - break for lunch (yeah, already lol)

12:30pm - Olivia down for a nap, the girls back to work

12:55pm - Brianna's asking about dividing 9 by 6 saying it doesn't work. I explain to her that it does work, but there's a remainder. Then I explain what remainders are. She lists off a few answers that are incorrect so I tell her to bring her book to me. "But I'm not even working on math!" *sigh*

1:20pm - I do my Brain Age for the day... that crap's harder than it looks!

1:35pm - Brianna's finally done, just waiting on Tanya.

1:40pm - teaching Brianna that the fine art of changing the cat litter (a chore she's had for over a year), does NOT include sticking your hand in a bag and picking up poop like you would when walking a dog

1:42pm - explain to Brianna that cleaning the bathroom vanity (again, a chore she's had for over a year) must include removing all the toothbrushes, hair brushes, ect... BEFORE spraying cleaner.

1:50pm - Tanya's done, on to our ginormous spelling test (a list of yearly words generally taught at each grade level so I can get an idea of where they are), which strangely, both girls are excited for :S

3:45pm - 276 words later, we're done grade 2! The girls are crazy though and want to do grade 3 words on Monday lol

4:10pm - Set Brianna up with her laptop and Gr. 4 game. Time to take Tanya home and ship off some bows.

5:15pm - 5 mile line up at Tim Hortons....

6pm - Finally home. Grabbed some frozen chicken keivs for supper, something quick so the girls can run at a decent hour (I can't wait til their 5k is over and we can go back to running a few times a week instead of twice a day!)

6:10pm - Olivia's in the tub after eating microscopic amounts of supper for the 274th day in a row *sigh*

6:50pm - I finally get to sit down and eat!

6:55pm - Was shown a great *free* journalling pages blog (Grace is Overrarted)

7pm - Olivia's school time of the day. Over the summer we've been reviewing stuff we've already done... A through F, numbers 1 through 5, basic colors and shapes. Today we did A, circles and straight lines (pre-writing).

7:15pm - Running for the girls again. 4 times around the block, 3 sets each. Tanya broke her record for a 3rd time today! Brianna did much better tonight as well. Didn't break her record, but one of her runs was her fastest time in a couple weeks!

8pm - Rocking and bed for Olivia with required singing of the ABCs and Lullaby and Goodnight.

8:15pm - Sent Tanya home for the night. No running tomorrow since we'll be out of town visiting my grandparents.

8:20pm - Trying to convince Brianna to pick something a little more longer/challenging than a picture book for her nightly reading....

8:40pm - Crap, I forgot I'm supposed to make cookies for tomorrow! Guess I'll set up Brianna with her Brain Age and get to it!

9:10pm - Play a little facebook Keno while baking....

9:30pm - Kick Brianna off to bed, get more baking done!

9:35pm - Mmmmm.... first cookie of the batch.....

9:45pm - Finally done going through the amazing blog I posted about above, definitely following that one!

10:05pm - Cookies are done!! (On a normal weekday other than Friday, I'd be getting school stuff for the next day ready around now)

10:15pm - Organizing pics for this post

10:25pm - Since tomorrow's one of my twice a month must-wake-early days, I'm linking this up and headed to bed!

Day in the Life....

I like to do these once and a while....

7:05am - Woke up to my 2nd alarm (that was actually set for Lee and not me) and figured I might as well get up. Got down stairs and Lee's already gone (he went to the bank, but figured he'd sit for a coffee waiting for it to open)

7:15am - Coffeeeeeeeeee

8am - I hear Olivia up, but playing quietly, so I leave her while I have some uninterrupted computer time.

8:20am - I go upstairs to get the girls up. Olivia's sitting in Brianna's bed shushing her (cause she's still sleeping).

8:30am - Oatmeal for Olivia, which she won't allow me to feed her. She steals the bowl and spoon outta my hands and starts shoveling it in!

8:45am - Kick the girls outside for a bit. Brianna's towel from swimming yesterday is still outside and they race to see who can get to it first to "go ni-nights". Olivia loves having Brianna wrap her up like a burrito and pretends to snore.

9:30am - back inside, vegging in front of the tv (a morning habit Daddy started *sigh*). Brianna finally makes herself some cereal while I work to catch up on my blogroll. Daddy gets home.

10am - toss a loaf of bread on to be made in the breadmaker... gotta buy more butter....

10:10am - Waiting for Brianna's "favorite show" to be over so we can get outside to time her running.

10:25am - Out to time running! Looking to beat her record for her triathlon training.

10:26am - Neighbour is our cutting the hedge and Brianna HAS to watch

10:30am - Finally get to running. Brianna knocked 6 seconds off her best time for a current record of 1 minute 20 second around our .18mile block.

10:45am - taught Brianna how to do the stretches she knew properly and a couple new ones

11:05am - laminating time! I got about 1/2 of it done. Still have to cut it and hopefully get the other half done today too

11:55am - put lunch together... pita pizza for Brianna, banana and yogurt for Olivia and fruit smoothie for me. Lee's on his own.

12:20pm - Olivia down for nap. Argued with Brianna over her incomplete French work. She says I am done! Yeah, no. She finished half of one page and 1 question of another. Nothing on the other 2 pages. She seems to think I don't check her work.

12:30pm - I plugged my smoothie into my calorie counting site... I need some low cal yogurt. My supposedly healthy smoothie has over 400 cals in it! And did you know that a medium banana has over 100 cals? Boooo!

12:35pm - Brianna's singing her way through her school work....

1pm - spelling test... Brianna got 100%!

1:10pm - I start oogling recipes... always a bad idea. I've got a list a mile long of recipes I want to try!

1:45pm - Finished cutting out the first half of the laminated papers!

1:50pm - While reading up on New Bruswick for Geography, Brianna starts asking about the ice age... hmmm... will need to make sure we study that.

1:55pm - "Newfoundland joined Canada in 1943. You were alive then! How old were you Mommy?" Gee thanks.....

2:40pm - Olivia is up. Now curled up with Daddy watching Thomas while Brianna and I finish school.

2:50pm - Forgot all about the bread raising in the oven! Now it's all stick to the waxed paper and over risen.... *sigh* Oh well, we'll eat it anyways.

2:55pm - Snack time!

3:15pm - Snack time over, which translates into Olivia wanting to color all over Brianna's school work. Brianna tries to appease her by sitting her on her lap to watch her work, but no. Olivia wants to scribble or pitch a fit.

3:20pm - Daddy to the rescue! Off to the living room behind a locked gate so Brianna can work. Olivia seems happier snuggling again.

3:25pm - Bread is done... The crust looks a little funny. Hopefully it's ok inside!

3:50 - Math is done. To give me time to correct it to see if she got her 85% (if she gets 85% or more on half her problems, she doesn't have to do the other half, when it's just a sheet of problems), I read her her science for the day and send her off to copy her vocabulary words.

3:55pm - Olivia is appeased by putting on her "baby movie" (Baby Einstein)

4pm - Uh oh.... Math came back with only a 78%. Brianna's not happy with herself. I sympathize but tell her once she's done her vocabulary and math, we can do a fun part of science. I can still see school taking a loooooon time now as she complains at herself in her head for a while.

4:25pm - Typed up and printed Brianna's work list for next week. Now to print up her actual work from what's on the computer.

4:30pm - Cut into the bread. It's about half the height a slice of bread is supposed to be, but it still tastes ok!

4:40pm - Swept the walkway of dirt and grass seed for the 24,649th time since re-doing the lawn.

4:55pm - Math is finally done! Off to creating fossils (post to folow)

5:25pm - Olivia decides she hasn't had a facial bruise in a long enough time, so bashes her face of the kitchen table *sigh*

6pm - finally got the potatoes on for supper. I guess I should notice I need to make supper BEFORE supper needs to be well on it's way....

6:45pm - not bad, supper's only 15 minutes late. Ham steaks and mashed potatoes. Not exactly diet friendly lol

6:55pm - Brianna, as usual, has inhaled her food and now started on her good copy of her penpal letter. Olivia looks for more ham. When I refuse, she goes to hide with Daddy in the bedroom for bedtime snuggles.

7:25pm - pj time for Olivia! Brianna insists on giving me a running commentary of why she wrote what. While normally I love hearing about what she writes her penpals, this is at least the 2nd time she's given me great detail of it, had me read the letter several times and I corrected the spelling on the rough copy *sigh*

7:40pm - Brianna and I head out for our walk (on her triathlon route). While out we discuss getting married and weddings, true friends, silk worms and her friend's upcoming birthday party.

8:50pm - Brianna has a surprise bedtime snack of banana laced Jello.

9:20pm - Brianna's off to bed! I get to read my blogs in silence!

9:25pm - Olivia wakes up, sweating like crazy, but complaining that she doesn't have her blanket. Toddlers are so fun!

9:40pm - get notice from my WAHM friend that she's making Brianna's special birthday necklace tonight!

10:20pm - Lee comes downstairs and reminds me that I have an open bag of chips and ruins my diet. Thankfully Brianna and I did almost 4 miles tonight!

10:55pm - Vancouver wins! Only one more win to go until Canada brings the Stanley Cup home!!!

11:50pm - This mama is off to bed!

A Day In The Life Of....

I thought it would be fun to do one of these once and a while so I (and everyone else) can see how we progress.

8:22am - Brianna brought Olivia into my bed and the 3 of us had some morning snuggles.

8:30am - I brought Olivia down stairs to start breakfast while Brianna tidied her room and got dressed.

9am - after much dawdling, Brianna came down for breakfast. She asked if yogurt is a healthy breakfast (we've been talking a lot about healthy lately). Sure it is! Add a piece of toast and you're pretty well rounded. 1st load of laundry in the washer

9:30am - Brianna started the whining for the day about her morning chores. Thankfully it didn't take long to get her started and I put Olivia down for her nap (it would make more sense if she just stayed asleep another 1/2 hour even, but if she doesn't go down by 9:30am the rest of the day is shot).

9:40am - School started for Brianna. First is her little daily packet - tracking the weather, handwriting practice, a handful of math word problems and a paragraph of writing (about anything). I started trying to find all of our weather tracking sheets so she can graph last month's weather. The first week of the month is missing and it's in none of either of our binders or books. Thankfully I had one last blank one and go to Weather Underground to re-wroye the weather for that week. 1st load of laundry divided between the dry rack and the dryer.

10am - I opened Microsoft Office to design some new weather sheets since my old file seems to have bit the dust when my computer was virus filled and my BIL had to do some *massive* cleaning. Since the old weather sheets had quite large blocks (that seemed to encourage Brianna to write as large as possible) I made the pages have 2 weeks worth of tracking with much smaller blocks. However, my printer hadn't had enough coffee yet and even after re-setting the thing 5 times I couldn't get more than 3 pages out of it. Oh well, at least I've got 6 weeks worth for now.

10:30am - Brianna started her graphing stuff for the weather. First she finds out what the hottest and coldest temps were for the month (+9C - -16C in this case). Next she tracks how many times we had sunny/cloudy/ect... days. One her first graph she plots the temperatures for the am, noon and pm and colors them different colors.

11am - I can hear Olivia signing to her puppy in her crib.

11:30am - Olivia's finally had enough of playing and has shouted UP! Which translates to get me out of here!

11:35am - After settling down Olivia with lunch, I harp on ask Brianna to finish up her graph. She'd been staring off into space for most of the time and was only about 1/2 done.

12pm - Olivia's done eating and tried to grab at Brianna's markers so I set her up with some crayons and paper. 2nd load of laundry in the washer

12:15pm - Olivia's now coloring her highchair so out she goes. Immediately boots it upstairs to harass Grandma.

12:30pm - Brianna's finally done her graph (sloppily) and found some lunch. Her choice of Mr. Noodles was just a *bit* less healthy than her excitement over healthy yogurt for breakfast.

1pm - packed the kids up to head to the library. I needed to photocopy some pages from our new Health book and get a new "baby movie" (Baby Einstein) for Olivia. Brianna found a new Geronimo Stilton book she hadn't read and I piled on some nutrition books. Also renewed my copy of The Ultimate Book of Homeschooling Ideas (awesome book!).

1:50pm - already 20 minutes late, popped Olivia off to bed. Sorted 2nd load between the dry rack and dryer... aww crap... the towels from the first load weren't dry yet.

2pm - Brianna read one of her new books while I caught up on this post and gather papers for our health class today.

2:20pm - having a snack of yogurt, Brianna did her spelling test and math sheets.

2:35pm - Got started on her 2nd graph which tracks how many sunny/cloudy/ect... days we've had. This graph got done waaaaaaay faster than the other one.

2:50pm - Introduced the Healthy March calendar. Today is planning healthy breakfast for the week. Brianna actually thought of Wed-Sun's breakfasts all on her own! Then we went through the Canadian Food Guide to look at healthy serving sizes and how much a child of her age needs. She was quite surprised.

3:20pm - She chose to write about her day in her blog for computer time. We really need to work on her typing. It's beyond slow and peck-typing.

3:45pm - Olivia woke up and Brianna finished up the tidying/sweeping of the living room.

4pm - the girls sat down to a bowl of raisins for a snack. Brianna was surprised to see that an actual single serving of raisins is so small.

4:20pm - Brianna went off to play with her neighbourhood friend Lyric, Olivia watched her baby movie and I mopped floors, hoping Lee'll be home soon!

4:50pm - Floors are done, Lee just got home, guess I'll do some dishes....

5:15pm - 2nd load of laundry in the dryer.

5:25pm - the girls came inside to play while Olivia stole bites of bread from Daddy.

5:45pm - 3 way massive snuggle on the couch with me, Olivia and Lee.

5:55pm - Olivia rans away, Brianna's friend went home and Lee kicked me off the computer... off to fold and put away laundry (with lots of 19 mth old help)

6:10pm - Supper making time - chicken fries, veggies and one of those pasta side dish things. Brianna gone through the toy room to clean and get rid of things she doesn't want.

7:10pm - bath time for Olivia and back to sorting for Brianna. She whined however that she'd rather read lol

7:25pm - Brianna brought me quite a large things she's willing to get rid of. I'm both surprised and happy :) Now she's doing the vacuuming while I clean up supper.

7:40pm - Brianna's done and started reading bedtime stories to Olivia.

7:50pm - Olivia and Lee have gone to bed (he gets up at 3am for work), Brianna chose to read school books for her required reading, I called the tax place for the 3rd time today to find out whats going on.

8:10pm - tax place is awesome *sarcasm* We MAY find out tomorrow what's going on.

8:30pm - Brianna headed off to bed and I hung out on my Secular Homeschool board (where they're doing a really cool giveaway for a Timeline Playmat from Charlie's Playhouse!)

8:40pm - I realized we're almost out of coffee (which is a crime) so hoofed it to the grocery store to pick up some before it closes. Walking back from the store, I see flashing lights at my house. *Heart attack in a bowl* Hoofed it a little faster and discover it's just some police cars blocking the road next to my house so a van can be towed. *phew*

9pm - Walked into the house to find Lee sitting on the computer. WTH?! "I wasn't sleeping!" Yeah, that's why you just asked me why I went up town when I had to shake you 3 times to wake you up to TELL you I was going to go pick up coffee *roll eyes* Get back to bed!

9:45pm - Realized that tomorrow is Dr. Suess' birthday. Crap! Gotta find some fun stuff to do!

10:35pm - wow, you'd think with how much hype goes on about the read across America thing with the good Dr.'s bday there'd be more out there! I managed to find a colorable bookmark, a couple word searches and some basic coloring pages. Oh well, Brianna'll love it.

10:45pm - Lee forgot to put out the garbage and recycling... craaaaap. I don't mind putting out the garbage but the recycling weighs a ton!

11:10pm - This mama is off to bed!
