Wilderness Wednesday

Brianna got a bird watching kit for her birthday, so we've been studying everything about local birds. On her own, with no help from me, she's started discovering which bird make which sounds without seeing them. With her birthday money she picked up a outdoors-man type vest with all sorts of pockets and such for her gear. She loves the duck caller that came with her kit, but can't yet figure out how to make different bird sounds with the bird whistle.

Sorry for no pics, my camera is quickly kicking the bucket and all I can get pics of is a fuzzy blob :(

  1. How fun! Do you have a link for the bird watching kit? I'll try to link up on Friday. It's been a while! Swimming at the lake! LOL

  2. It's meant for younger kids, say 4-8, but while Brianna just turned 9, she loves it. I found the kit at Walmart but there's apparently a whole bunch of different kits too. www.backyardsafarioutfitters.com is the site listed for more info :)

  3. I looked at the kit- I don't think age matters much with things like that. Has your daughter found the bird call site? I don't remember the name of it, but I think just google bird calls and it will come up. It has helped us identify a few local birds. I'll come back and link up this week if you are posting.
