Not a single additional post in 2018. Damn. I kinda suck at this keeping up with a blog thing.<br />
<br />
Honestly, not much new going on. We've been 90% unschooling lately. Brianna goes to England this summer. Olivia is finally reading with a LOT more fluency. Joshua is still not getting speech therapy but is finally getting OT again.<br />
<br />
I am going to be starting a new blog about our road trips. Living on the road. Places we've gone. Off the beaten path cool stuff. I'll post a link here once I've got something goingSandra (Sam)http://www.blogger.com/profile/17507356006189376034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387527974330419777.post-53842873741307977952018-01-02T22:49:00.003-05:002018-01-02T22:51:35.651-05:00Hello 2018So as is obvious, I suck at sticking with updating this thing (oops!)<br />
<br />
I would really like to, especially since I love looking back at old posts to see how far we've come. Maybe, eventually, I will keep up with it again. Here goes this try....<br />
<br />
It was an eventful year. We got a new diagnosis (another post), new trials and joys, new ventures, new ADventures. I hope to slow down and take the time to record it all.<br />
<br />
But for now, a cute pic of 4 of my monsters to tide you over.<br />

I also happen to love planning and lists and such. The Organizing Junkie wrote a <a href="http://orgjunkie.com/2016/10/organized-christmas-gift-planner.html">great post</a> that included a review on an awesome app that I love! <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xmaslist">Christmas Gift List</a> is a super easy way to keep track of gifts you need to buy, which ones you've already bought and what's already wrapped and you've forgotten about *raises hand*<br />

You can even password it so it's safe from prying eyes ;)<br />

This is now my 2nd year using this app. I even used it for birthday shopping!Sandra (Sam)http://www.blogger.com/profile/17507356006189376034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387527974330419777.post-21753265327836998032017-10-03T23:54:00.003-04:002017-10-03T23:54:59.302-04:00Brianna's Moving Out (well, for pretend)<div dir="ltr">
I was reading through one of my Secular Homeschooler group's and was reminded of this great idea I wanted to try when Brianna was older. Real life finances, without the real life hardships.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKCrbc6juVq3YfjYu7SshfWAM7Bw5vFvTa2AtMG-wduOqozc96doZmHP1Jf_gZ85IANsz32evCqzUIxnFOXy5-h0-5tTrw76ipujwZ5wbRqmm8l5XCaTU-WQZGw4upn2PbML_ktQEa8lJ0/s1600/o-CANADIAN-BILLS-570.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="380" data-original-width="570" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKCrbc6juVq3YfjYu7SshfWAM7Bw5vFvTa2AtMG-wduOqozc96doZmHP1Jf_gZ85IANsz32evCqzUIxnFOXy5-h0-5tTrw76ipujwZ5wbRqmm8l5XCaTU-WQZGw4upn2PbML_ktQEa8lJ0/s400/o-CANADIAN-BILLS-570.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The basic idea was fairly simple. Start with a part time job, find a place to live, pay bills, etc....</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So Brianna and I sat for a few hours last month setting it up. Because of all the time involved in setting it up, I went ultra basic. As the time goes on, there will be more details.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Here's what we did for September:</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I had Brianna do some guestimating. I had her guess what she would be spending per month. Her answers - rent ($560), heat ($100), electric ($100), food ($100), extras ($250). Apparently I need to take her to the grocery store more often...</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Brianna got a part time job at the local dollar store. Minimum wage at $11.60 per hour, 20 hours per week (for Sept, to keep it simple). I also explained the available gov tax credits that she would be entitled to for being low income (here, Trillium monthly and GST 4 times a year). We went over Lee's pay stub to learn about deductions. I set it up so she started "working" in August so that her Sept bills (rent, in particular) were paid on Sept 1st.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
We did an actual house hunt with the local rental companies so she could see what legit rentals offered. She decided on a 1 bdrm apt about 6 blocks from home (and about 1.5 miles from work) that included fridge and stove (not all that common here) and heat. It cost $515 + electric.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
We set her other bills at - electric ($40, based on current rates and what I paid almost 20 yrs ago for a 1 bdrm), cell ($45, her existing, real life bill), internet ($57, a real package from our cable company), bus fare ($55, as she currently does not want to walk to work).</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
She decided to "sell" her bar fridge that she for real owns as her apt came with a fridge so would rather the extra money. She otherwise furnished her appt with the furniture she for real owns (bed, dresser, desk & chair, wall unit, end tables, tv and laptop)</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
After all her bills we paid, she was left with $128 This month (Oct), we will add "grocery shopping" in detail to the lessons. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>

She had a very long battle with bowel cancer that spread to her liver and then lungs. She spent most of the last year fighting it tooth and nail.<br />
<br />
I haven't seen her in almost 25 years.<br />
<br />
For reasons still unknown to me, I did not even know that she existed until I was about 8 years old. I had been led to believe that my grandpa's 2nd wife was my grandma (by blood. She was still one of my grandmas). Something happened when my father and aunt were small children and they all became estranged.<br />
<br />
That year, when I was 8, my father decided to send me to Grandma Flo's for the summer (it did not at all seem strange to me at the time to spend 6 weeks with a woman I had just met. My father said she was grandma, so that was good enough for me). I had the most wonderful time. She was not your typical grandma. She taught me how to roll her cigarettes for her with her tub of tobacco and rolling machine and introduced me to her "pet" raccoons (she lived in downtown Vancouver and there was a rodent problem that she made the best of).<br />
<br />
She brought my to the Indian Reserve that we had family on. I didn't know I was Native. I imagine, because I was 8, I was told very little. Grandma Flo said we were Mountain Cree. I never knew the name of the reserve we visited but it was amazing.<br />
<br />
The Aunt that we stayed with lived about a 5 minute walk from the Fraser River and every morning we would walk down there to pull in the nets. HUGE, real salmon! I was totally a city girl. I didn't know fish this big existed! Pacific Salmon were the most often caught, but occasionally there was a Pink Salmon in there. My grandma and Aunt and sometimes others would clean the fish on the kitchen counter or table. Sometimes there were eggs. I had heard of caviar, but never ate it. It was salty but I remember liking it. One of the men would grab some of the cleaned fish to hang in the smoke house next door. (REAL smoke house smoked salmon. Most amazing thing ever. I have never found anything like it in any store). I remember watching in disgusted amazement as my grandmother would eat the fish head.<br />
<br />
I remember lots of adult talk of the "white man" accusing them (the natives) of over fishing. I remember siting on the banks of the river when they pulled in the morning fish and across the river on a higher cliff was that "white man" pulling up big nets too. I remember my 8 year old "hatred" of the "white man", forgetting that I, too, was mostly white. But at that moment, all I thought of was my new-found Native Pride.<br />
<br />
I saw her only once after that summer. I don't even really remember much from that 2nd visit as it was just one day as my father and I drove through.<br />
<br />
My grandma was a bit of a gypsy. She was always packing up and moving here and there. Almost always in the lower mainland of BC, but not always. For a while, I kept up with her as best as I could, sometimes speaking to her on the phone or writing letters, but sometimes not hearing from her for years.<br />
<br />
My aunt (my father's sister) contacted me a year ago looking for information to contact my father about his mother. While I haven't talked to my father in 12 years, I did just receive the requested information from my grandpa (who isn't aware that I don't speak to my father, or why) and passed it on. I hadn't seen my aunt since I was 5. Thankfully, she filled me in with as much information as she could.<br />
<br />
I'm sad that I hadn't seen my grandma in 25 years, but I am glad that my memories of her are all amazing and full of adventure.Sandra (Sam)http://www.blogger.com/profile/17507356006189376034noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387527974330419777.post-73210485017585212962017-05-01T09:46:00.001-04:002017-05-03T23:15:21.981-04:00Helloooo?<div dir="ltr">
*taps mic* Anyone still here?</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Ok, so I pulled another one of my disappearing acts. I swear my intention is to post regularly! I just swear I see squirrels and rainbows and get distracted lol</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I have started Bullet Journalling (more about that later). One of the reasons, is to be less squirrely. One of my goals for May is to get back to blogging regularly. The whole point of this blog is so people can learn about our journey and so me and the kids can have this cool diary of sorts to look back on. I also really enjoy writing!</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Teeny up-to-date on us...<br />
Joshua - as of his last speech assessment, he is up to 2.5 years old in speech. This is fantastic as a year ago he had 4 words and relied solely on sign language. He's *finally* starting his 2nd block of speech therapy next week so hopefully we can get that number even higher! We're also waiting on referrals and assessments from the Ottawa Children's Treatment Center for autism, sensory processing disorder and occupational therapy. Joshua also starts soccer this month!</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Olivia - in February she joined Brianna in Time4Learning after completing Reading Eggs and Math Seeds. She has already completed Social Studies for Gr. 2 and is 3/4 done science and math in Gr. 2. So we're mostly focusing on English, which has always been her weaker spot, but she's more than half done Gr. 1 there. She loves Brownies and is excited to do her first camp with them this month. She also starts her 3rd year of soccer this month.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Brianna - finally finished all her Gr. 6 work and I swear it's like a light bulb clicked. It took her almost 3 years to finish Gr. 6 yet she's on course to finish Gr. 7 by the end of July! She is absolutely thriving in Pathfinders and graduates to Rangers for next year. She's been working her tail off to sell cookies and fundraise to pay for their trip to England in 2019. She squeezed into her final year of science camp (technically she ages out 5 days before camp but they've allowed to to take part this year). She's been encouraged by the River Institute to volunteer with them next summer (most likely helping with the younger campers group).</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Isaac - graduates this year!!! How the hell did that happen! Wasn't it just like, last year, that he started Kindergarten!? He's been accepted into 2 programs at one of the city's best colleges (!!!) and currently plans to do both, double majoring. He's also working with a program there to work over the summer. He may possibly get a couple hours sleep. He has also almost completed a completely drawn by hand, D&D style game with a friend of his. We tested it out this weekend and it was pretty damn fun!</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Dylan - has been working full time at the same place Lee is since the fall and has been doing great! While they work for different companies in the same building, he and Lee see each other a couple times a week. Everyone thinks they're brothers lol He had some nerve wracking trips home in the winter due to storms (he has the same anxiety that Lee does and this was his first winter doing any kind of distance driving).</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Lee - after a round of (fairly low) winter blues, his anxiety appears to be doing much better. He's in his happy little world at work in wash bay without anyone breathing down his neck. There's a possibility of promotion to days wash bay late in the summer due to someone's retirement that he's really excited about, so we've all got our fingers crossed for that one!</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Me - I fell into a food-happy slump over the winter and gained 9 of my hard-earned 40lb loss back. However, now that the weather is nice again, I've been getting out for multiple mile walks a few times a week. My business is slow, as it always is in spring and summer but I'm happy with that as it gives me time to selfish sew! My goal is to have 75% of the family's summer clothes be mama made this year.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
So that's us for now. I hope to have a LOT more frequent postings, including a pile of the drafts I was working on last fall. How's everyone else doing in blog land?</div>

My big show is over. It's still my busy season, but I have time to breathe and not spending 36 hours a day in my office is nice. I still have another show to do before the holidays but it's a much smaller scale show and I can get everything I need ready in a day. So my office time has been spent catching up on our family's "needs for winter" clothing list and gifts.<br />
<br />
The girls have been doing well in their online schooling (Time4Learning and Reading Eggs/Math Seeds) so we'll be continuing doing mostly that for the rest of the year. We do really need to finish our Thailand Country Study though! Joshua has been doing a lot of the same school activities (his favorites) so not too many pics of his schoolwork, but he is loving independence learning too!<br />

My booth at my big show. I had record sales so all the hard work was worth it!<br />

All over the kids Guiding books it is spelled Enrolment. My computer wants me to add an L but I'll leave it out as that's how Guides spells it. I will have to ask why....<br />
<br />
Tonight was Enrolment Night which all Branches take part in. For Olivia, it was welcoming her officially to the Guiding world. For Brianna, it was for her to reaffirm her Promise to Guides (because she was in Sparks before and once a Guide, always a Guide).<br />

Each Branch showed off their stuff with songs and parades and most importantly, the Promise. Then each Branch was called up to receive their new year pins (Year 1 for Olivia, Year 3 for Brianna) and any earned badges. Olivia also got a certificate welcoming her to Brownies.<br />

The girls are super thrilled with their new badges/pins and are now more excited about learning how to earn more. Brianna is on her last year of Pathfinders but Olivia has a 2nd year of Brownies after this one, so loads of time to earn oodles of badges!<br />

Add in yet ANOTHER round of snot in my house, it made for a fairly unproductive week.<br />
<br />
I have my major show of the year this weekend, both days, so I've been spending 8-12 hours a day in my office making stock. Because I hand-make everything I sell, prepping for shows of any kind is very time consuming. I do love it, but I wish my house ran it's self while I was busy.<br />
<br />
Because of me living in my office, school has mostly consisted of computer work (<a href="https://www.time4learning.com/">Time4Learning</a> for Brianna, <a href="http://readingeggs.com/">Reading Eggs</a>/<a href="http://mathseeds.com/">Math Seeds</a> for Olivia) and unschooling. I haven't done set preschool with Joshua in a couple weeks, but we all know, learning continues even if there's no formal teaching! Joshua now counts to 20 and is working on dressing himself. Even my blog has suffered. I have like 13 draft posts with post ideas, but no time to write them!<br />
<br />
While this huge show is exciting and I hope to gain loads of new contacts and customers, I can't wait for it to be over and life can slow down again!<br />

Unfortunately it was announced that they were retiring/closing after this season *cry* My sister and niece insisted they had to take the girls for one last hurrah.<br />

At the time of the screening, we only answered "yes" to one question (his obsessiveness to lining up objects).<br />
<br />
Now, at 3 yrs, 4 mths, we are seeing more signs of autism.<br />
<br />
We had a speech appointment a couple weeks ago just to get a reassessment and discuss what we can do at home while we wait for another block of actual speech therapy (see my frustrations on that <a href="http://homeschoolingnewbie.blogspot.ca/2016/07/please-stop-over-using-programs-that.html">here</a>). Our usual therapist, Sassy, was out of the office so we met with one of her partners. Someone who hadn't seen Joshua since we first started with speech. Halfway through our appointment, she asked if Joshua had had autism screening. Yes, but a year ago. He was still under the usual screening age and still non-verbal. We discussed calling the developmental ped again so re-screen him.<br />
<br />
Last week I saw Joshua's family doctor for an unrelated matter and brought up what the speech therapist and I discussed. We talked and she did an informal screening. She too, agrees that we need to make a follow up appointment.<br />
<br />
Now to wait to see the developmental pediatrician again...<br />

This is a combined post because I'm in a crazy busy period of work. Still lots of learning going on, just not as much documentation! Random colds have been floating in and out of our house too, so set school work hasn't happened as normal.</div>

Paramedics came to Olivia's brownies to teach them some basic first aid. Olivia was thrilled to bandage her friend's "cut" arm. Even better (in Olivia's opinion) was the fact that they let her keep the gloves. She wore those things for days!<br />

Brianna's dad is really good about me homeschooling her and has never questioned my wishes in it. Occasionally He gives her assignments. This one was of the history of the company that he works for.<br />

Joshua woke up this week with a swollen face, complaining of pain. A doctor's visit showed nothing wrong. No ear infection, no tooth abscess, no strep, nothing. Just random swelling and pain. Now it's gone. I guess Joshua just likes to be special.<br />

<br />
I am now at 42.6 pounds lost (!!!!), at least 4 clothing sizes and (going by bust+waist+hips) 10.5 inches smaller. All since January.<br />
<br />
I am SUPER stoked. I haven't been this small since I was about 5 mths pregnant with Isaac (17 years ago,,,). I am only 12 (!!!) pounds from my ultimate goal (which is still technically "overweight", but I have a large frame and have no interest in being "skinny", just healthy).<br />
<br />
January to the end of May I worked really hard. I've never done so well for so long and my new clothing sizes proves it. In June I had 2 surgeries 11 days apart, one of them major abdominal surgery. I was on restrictions for 6 weeks and even after that still felt like a zombie.<br />
<br />
While I didn't get much exercise done over the summer, I still worked really hard to keep my eating good. 95% of the time I stayed below my calorie goal on <a href="https://www.myfitnesspal.com/">MyFitnessPal</a>. Even with the lack of exercise, I managed to lose 10lbs over the summer.<br />
<br />
By the end of Sept, I was feeling 100% again. The temps were cooler. Workouts could happen again! We all love walking and have a great bike path that's only a block away. I put together a daily workout to try to tone, since losing all that weight has shrunk a lot of parts but also made a lot of parts floppy.<br />
<br />
We joined <a href="http://www.cornwall.ca/en/recreation/AquaFitness.asp">AquaFit</a> now that beach season is over. While AquaFit is MUCH harder than it looks, it is still fun. And it's something different than the usual sweaty reps. We walk there while the weather is still nice so we get a 2 mile walk in as well.<br />
<br />
As winter comes, it'll be tempting to get lazy. I really hope I can keep the will power to keep going!<br />
<br />

As I'm sure you don't want to see a pile of snotty Kleenex, this is a picture-less Wrap Up.<br />
<br />
This week is Fire Prevention/Safety Week. We started out the week watching a video our local firefighters put together about smoke detector and battery replacements. We just checked and changed batteries in ours last week so it was a "yay we already did that!" moment.<br />
<br />
Being that it's my busy season for my home business, the girls have had a lot of independent work. I mean, most of Brianna's already is, but Olivia too has been mostly working on <a href="http://readingeggs.com/">Reading Eggs</a> and <a href="http://mathseeds.com/">Math Seeds</a> rather than paper worksheets.<br />
<br />
We did a <a href="http://homeschoolingnewbie.blogspot.ca/2016/10/a-walk-in-fall.html">nature walk</a>. The girls insist on calling it a "nature walk" even if it's something we do often and it's right next to our house *sigh*<br />
<br />
We started our first Country Study in over a year. Getting a subscription to <a href="https://www.universalyums.com/">Universal Yums</a> certainly helped get the ball rolling! (check my post about Universal Yums <a href="http://homeschoolingnewbie.blogspot.ca/2016/10/universal-yums.html">here</a>) Our Country Study this round is Thailand. Look for a post next week to read all about it!<br />

And it ties perfectly to our Country Studies!<br />
<br />
Thankfully, in Canada, we are considered international so we get our boxes later than the US. Which means I get to find out what country is coming up this month so I can plan a country study around it.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When you first open the box you see a tissue paper flag (which I thought was awesome) and a little information book. The information book gives you some info on the country, some fun trivia and and explanation of what each snack is. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We signed up for the smaller snack box which promises a minimum of 6 snacks. Clearly, they are very generous with their "minimum of 6" as we got 9 different snacks and a total of 17 items!</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQDQ-juO5gxhBYSlyRTxs8E6hp8QdU8kgg-VDSnFQu2Jr_1fNIEV_EsT3DoKeQzH3lqzY5EF1mH-PBV5abf4zFI0LflbHaptu4q-T5h3bD13bso-h51dO6rHdP6spBzE_l2VXnPsS6skXJ/s1600/20161012_145724.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQDQ-juO5gxhBYSlyRTxs8E6hp8QdU8kgg-VDSnFQu2Jr_1fNIEV_EsT3DoKeQzH3lqzY5EF1mH-PBV5abf4zFI0LflbHaptu4q-T5h3bD13bso-h51dO6rHdP6spBzE_l2VXnPsS6skXJ/s400/20161012_145724.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I was worried about Olivia, the crazy picky eater not getting any enjoyment out of this as we struggle to get her to try basic foods let alone foods that "look weird" or have another language on the packaging. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
She really impressed me though! She actually tried *everything*. There were items she didn't like but didn't let that discourage her from trying the next item.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here is her "super spicy face" (not surprisingly, being Thailand, there were a few spicy snacks. This was her face towards the bread sticks, yet she ended up eating almost the whole box!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnY0ekIe4q0SLTvfeA7dOIrULp4J2V9nXbPHTdlPO-s-tONweCNE34wwVKmYnV11pZzv-CrUqhOnIrxZgJpdWjjnL7hslXc2kCfn__rrbO4fDMWC0uD99BTuKsveuAm0NUxD8CE8Zyzww4/s1600/20161012_150402.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnY0ekIe4q0SLTvfeA7dOIrULp4J2V9nXbPHTdlPO-s-tONweCNE34wwVKmYnV11pZzv-CrUqhOnIrxZgJpdWjjnL7hslXc2kCfn__rrbO4fDMWC0uD99BTuKsveuAm0NUxD8CE8Zyzww4/s400/20161012_150402.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
Brianna is a big food lover like me so I knew the monthly snack boxes would be right up her alley. Here she's testing the spicy sesame peanuts. "They're not *bad* but the sesame makes them wrong!"<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAso91qhiCJ4MuHemnXYlA11yzFV4Y2tc25N7KEDOfd3SwYroNcchWz01GRIpfnWL2VAyc-Vd-WBoSnACE6ePnV5Y9RirE8tWAQbvb3nmpypsStPiEDNiLOZK6S3mJSdbw9aUTmwKkqnEs/s1600/20161012_150509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAso91qhiCJ4MuHemnXYlA11yzFV4Y2tc25N7KEDOfd3SwYroNcchWz01GRIpfnWL2VAyc-Vd-WBoSnACE6ePnV5Y9RirE8tWAQbvb3nmpypsStPiEDNiLOZK6S3mJSdbw9aUTmwKkqnEs/s400/20161012_150509.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Brianna's favorite item was the coconut chips.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJJDDc_1AISYa73F_G5OvzgW8LgbyAJbJ4mK18D5OEc24mQAfjDIse-It_QVPvTEw-F5DNl7O_3DXLolUA9d3PoC_cIAQnp984PUEta_k52cJ-yZQCfICc-YqiTFDz5RBf-ILZ8iTx4SR0/s1600/20161012_150544.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJJDDc_1AISYa73F_G5OvzgW8LgbyAJbJ4mK18D5OEc24mQAfjDIse-It_QVPvTEw-F5DNl7O_3DXLolUA9d3PoC_cIAQnp984PUEta_k52cJ-yZQCfICc-YqiTFDz5RBf-ILZ8iTx4SR0/s400/20161012_150544.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
Olivia had a tie for favorite items being the garlic bread toast (basically garlic melba toast) and strawberry wafers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFTrDx1XhmH_nKX1gXu-PmEITdPFxxx52xg5H6OZF6eARn3HwLCqJbc1d5J_8lmhJjfYm_C_Uo2wsl1FFDv9ILvgrRj-STGlgtrkpPRujWLFxQyvqtrPpVZ35w-VZCn7IGzrEH-bBzaXec/s1600/20161012_150657.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFTrDx1XhmH_nKX1gXu-PmEITdPFxxx52xg5H6OZF6eARn3HwLCqJbc1d5J_8lmhJjfYm_C_Uo2wsl1FFDv9ILvgrRj-STGlgtrkpPRujWLFxQyvqtrPpVZ35w-VZCn7IGzrEH-bBzaXec/s400/20161012_150657.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
My favorite item was the tea drink (sorry, no pic). It was similar in flavour and texture to a milkshake. It instructed to drink it hot or cold, we went for warm.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The girls loved this addition to our Country Studies and look forward to the next box. While it's a money spending thing (and I'm a super frugal person), it's totally worth it!<br />

Every Wednesday I would post the link up with a post of the things we did in nature that week.<br />
<br />
I should probably start that again. But with Canada going into winter, nature can be a little white and a little cold. Not to say that winter isn't beautiful! It's just cold. Last winter was amazing. Normal winter... the hair in your nostrils can feel like they're gonna break off.<br />
<br />
So maybe come spring....<br />
<br />
However FALL in Canada is incredible. We have all the beautiful colors and the perfect temps. The girls and I went for a walk along our local bike path (a gorgeous 40+ kilometer path along the St. Lawrence river). Now that the temperatures are better, we get out walking a lot. With the healthy lifestyle we're working on, it's perfect!<br />
<br />

<br />
We found a swarm of super cool looking bugs on a tree. The 2nd pic is of the bottom of the trunk. We discovered a few different ages of the bugs. The youngest ones are red and as they get bigger they turn more and more black.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Research proved that they're <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxelder_bug">Boxedler bugs</a>, thankfully harmless.<br />

<br />
In several areas along the bike path are crab apple trees.The girls like to pick them and toss them into the water for the seagulls (who happily scoop them up!). Olivia also just likes to demonstrate her monkey skills while Brianna paranoidly watches.<br />
<br />

<br />
We found a turkey vulture in the park along the bike path. Seeing them closer to our house is pretty uncommon but I've never seen one in the park area which is just off our downtown.<br />
<br />

The St. Lawrence river is a huge river system. There's load of different wildlife including the ducks, seagulls and a heron hanging out on this rock.<br />

Joshua looooves them. His favorites right now are the wooden alphabet (which has both upper and lower case) and the cutting eggs.<br />

He really likes these printables I keep pulling out (a lot of them are leftovers from Olivia's preschool years so I'm not positive where I got them!). He's having lots of fun learning how to glue. Next up, scissor skills! *eek*<br />

<br />
I got Olivia an abacus to help with her math. She's working on time right now and was disappointed that her abacus doesn't apply to time so she just played with it. I showed her how it works to add larger numbers (which is so much easier than her counting out a zillion math jewels).<br />
<br />

<br />
We started doing Lego challenges. They help with fine motor skills, patience and creative thinking. And hell, they're just fun! The girls each got 100 random pieces and had to create something that used every piece. It's a lot harder than it sounds! Sadly, I didn't think to grab a pic of their completed projects, but Brianna made a giant human powered/ride on robot and Olivia made a YouTube video making lab.<br />

So I figured I'd start with a slightly sillier one.<br />
<br />
Top Ten Things to Drive me Crazy<br />
(specifically, my kids, in our homeschool life)<br />
<br />
1. <b>Skipping assignments and thinking I won't notice.</b> Really? I check your work! I *will* know you didn't do it. And claiming to have completed assignments that require my assistance (read alouds and such)? Um. I know I didn't do it, so how could you have?<br />
<br />
2. <b>Pretending you don't know it's school time</b>. Sure, Joshua can't tell time. But his school time doesn't have a set time. However, both Brianna and Olivia know how to tell time, so 10am is pretty easy to know. Especially since we have 7 various clocks in the areas they spend time in in the morning.<br />
<br />
3. <b>Humming or otherwise making distracting noises that you recently told your sibling to stop doing. </b>And you wonder why your sibling won't stop when you ask...<br />
<br />
4. <b>Whining about your sibling having different types/amounts of schoolwork.</b> You're 7 years apart. Even in the subjects you do together, the *work* is going to be different!<br />
<br />
5. <b>Checking facebook when you're supposed to be doing xyz.</b> *cough*Brianna*cough* I'm fairly certain your research on Leukemia isn't giggle worthy... that would be a meme.<br />
<br />
6. <b>Claiming that your chore is done when you have grabbed no cleaning products.</b> I may be working but the cleaning closet is on one side of me and the room you're cleaning is on the other. You never passed me...<br />
<br />
7. <b>Whining about a sibling "playing" on the computer while you have to do schoolwork.</b> *cough*Olivia*cough* Your sister's schoolwork is ON the computer!<br />
<br />
8. <b>*Still* doing schoolwork at 10pm because you piddled around all day.</b> Dude. Do. Your. Schoolwork.<br />
<br />
9. <b>Grabbing a snack at snack time when you slept late so just ate breakfast 10 minutes ago.</b> My kids live for food. All. The. Time. So we have set snack times. Sorry, you don't get to eat breakfast at 10am, snack at 10:30am then lunch. You aint hungry.<br />
<br />
10. <b>There's not enough hours in the day. </b>Seriously, this one is the worst. I'm not asking a lot, just like 2 or 3 more hours. I'd get SO much more done!<br />
<br />

Waaay late posting this week!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Joshua is continuing to love school and often asks for it long before I've had enough coffee to process the request. This week we worked on some fine motor skills (like lacing pony beads on pipe cleaners, not pictured). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was his first time working with a glue stick. He was pretty excited and did fairly well!</div>

He loves reading stories. I have a bunch of these little tot school story books that he loves, as well as actual books.<br />

One of the great things about homeschooling is I don't always have to be the teacher. Here he's showing off his school work to Grandma and then our neighbour<br />

We live next to a furniture store and our side yard butts up to their cement wall. Instant jumbo drawing wall! None of their customers see this wall (unless they're in my yard lol) so they don't mind. Brianna was drawing circles for Joshua, his current favorite shape, and he drew a one in front of a zero and informed her that it was ten. Then started making his own 10s. The Y looking thing next to the 10 he's drawing was his drawing of a 9.<br />

Joshua had a grand time with friends (seen here in red) at my niece's birthday party. There were 3 other kids his age and a giant field to run in. The bonfire proved to be interesting with 4 toddlers, but everyone managed to stay safe.<br />

Olivia has been riding biking with the neighbour's children in the evenings. She became quite the pro at riding a 2 wheeler this summer and helped teach her year-younger friend how to as well.<br />

Olivia was recently shown how to properly use a steak knife to cut. Joshua loves this as it means that she is willing to often cut up strawberries for him!<br />

Brianna got a note from the local organizer of the Terry Fox Run thanking her for her continued fundraising and offered to make sure that her run is officially recorded (as Brianna was sick on the actual run day).<br />

Olivia finished up her <a href="http://homeschoolingnewbie.blogspot.ca/2016/09/apple-experiment.html">apple experiment</a> with all sorts of gross success.<br />
<br />
We recorded our "<a href="http://homeschoolingnewbie.blogspot.ca/2016/09/day-in-life-of-waterview-homeschool.html">day in the life</a>" post for iHomeschool Network.<br />
<br />
Brianna has really taken a big change in responsibility in her school work this week. She went from needing more prompting (and arguing) to do schoolwork than Olivia, to really buckling down and getting it done. Her chores still take a lot more prompting, but I'll take it!<br />

We all began working out again this week. Because of my surgeries in June, this summer was way too laid back. Brianna really fell short in the healthy dept. We have a dedicated workout room that we share with the neighbours (we have the equipment, they have the space) so no excuses!<br />

If you've been reading my blog for a while (or just read back to a few years ago), you'll remember my niece Tanya used to homeschool with us. She went back to the public school route and is not working on dual credit courses at the college that Brianna plans to attend. Today was her Sweet 16.<br />

This week, the final week, on iHomeschool Network's Annual Back to School Blog Hop is a "Day in the Life of" post. I love doing these. I haven't done one in forever though!<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
8am - alarm goes off. I am NOT a morning person and even 8am is way too early for me. Thankfully, Lee works nights and is home before Joshua wakes up, or, if I'm extra lucky, Joshua will wake me up at like 6am *grumble* I poked Olivia, who is not surprisingly in my bed. She doesn't even flinch. I come down stairs to find that Brianna's alarm has been going off for the last half an hour. I need an earthquake bed for her or something. Pour coffee and head outside to my porch to smoke and coffee in silence. My mom, Grandma, has already left for work.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
8:30am - I come inside, Brianna's alarm is not still going but she's not up here. Olivia is also not out of bed. I send Lee upstairs to wake Olivia and head to the basement to drag Brianna out of bed. She fakes being dead. Dude, there is not enough coffee flowing through me yet to think that's funny.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
8:50am - Breakfast is finally happening for the girls. Joshua on the other hand has been awake 2 hours and is happily "cooking" his sippy on the stove (placing it on the cold burner and calling it hot).<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
9:05am - Joshua's sippy might be "hot" but his toes are like icecubes and I refuse to turn on the furnace this early in the fall. Operation find-everyone's-slippers begins.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLARKOdfCCSsH27N1qmRZFzVveQKr-f7I1zQcnod12EzwR-NuESvx5AMUUBzI0m4UOeR7qc74QRWwIuEC_bvbgnh82eHPh5wwBo1QTBVCd3cUSZNWYm6Bak2ha3ic0nfMSfN0RZ_n4E_w-/s1600/20160926_090748.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLARKOdfCCSsH27N1qmRZFzVveQKr-f7I1zQcnod12EzwR-NuESvx5AMUUBzI0m4UOeR7qc74QRWwIuEC_bvbgnh82eHPh5wwBo1QTBVCd3cUSZNWYm6Bak2ha3ic0nfMSfN0RZ_n4E_w-/s400/20160926_090748.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
9:15am - veg fest before school. Since it's Monday, Lee didn't work last night (he works tonight though), so the little kids pile on Daddy in the living room. Brianna and I hang out on the porch, being kitten perches and discuss what's on the agenda for the day and I fill in chore lists for the week in their agendas.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEUL0_dhZRRnEOG9g69-SnyY13M4HpE4schfST7fy11gkLfvXNbY35gZzwWYUlmZ21XMzs145A02BGMD4_N3k9wMn4bu84O4bpASW8B66-LxVxCwfHoLxlSSCFxqiaPPGXGzh2viGj_pec/s1600/20160926_091550.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEUL0_dhZRRnEOG9g69-SnyY13M4HpE4schfST7fy11gkLfvXNbY35gZzwWYUlmZ21XMzs145A02BGMD4_N3k9wMn4bu84O4bpASW8B66-LxVxCwfHoLxlSSCFxqiaPPGXGzh2viGj_pec/s400/20160926_091550.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
9:45am - meltdown begins over the fact that it's not snack time yet. Cue Joshua's most pitiful look. He is temporarily soothed by a blanket fort to watch Brianna play her game.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGBgDtD9LcMPn7QE-uIG4tjWB9Ljkz7a9KxIc3fSyzOrhm-QBDgoIYQWlo1BGauB4WDHLpRkYkyL1GOBqYVwXUVsdz_5JCZQZjwEbXl08ImSOPurjVEGnD5xHK-Iu9Y8gyjM2zDrSUYUKJ/s1600/20160926_094748.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGBgDtD9LcMPn7QE-uIG4tjWB9Ljkz7a9KxIc3fSyzOrhm-QBDgoIYQWlo1BGauB4WDHLpRkYkyL1GOBqYVwXUVsdz_5JCZQZjwEbXl08ImSOPurjVEGnD5xHK-Iu9Y8gyjM2zDrSUYUKJ/s400/20160926_094748.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
10am - let the schoolwork commence! Nope, wait... let the hang out in the bathroom for long periods of time commence....<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
10:25am - school actually starts. Thomas starts on Netflix for Joshua. Lee hides in our bedroom to watch non-preschooler tv.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
10:40 am - I cover Brianna's eyes to enter her laptop password while she's on her phone doing DuoLingo. "She chocolate eats" is now the French phrase of the day. Olivia is excited to see seasonal (fall) worksheets in her pile.<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
11:30 - Laundry on the line! Joshua loves to help Brianna with the clothes pins.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjsKmgbofsGfjBMQ6WFqFCf0SXeMefDe0onhSxCyQodaaXqdJ_GjR-DXUtZGZOhyphenhyphen-N-4NPlwEW59NETvbMaWOlJAzeT5Ja0HbYSwbUD4Z5wfNT35YB11LxRIJ7zL0X8CqYONc83zDGCcE-/s1600/20160926_113846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjsKmgbofsGfjBMQ6WFqFCf0SXeMefDe0onhSxCyQodaaXqdJ_GjR-DXUtZGZOhyphenhyphen-N-4NPlwEW59NETvbMaWOlJAzeT5Ja0HbYSwbUD4Z5wfNT35YB11LxRIJ7zL0X8CqYONc83zDGCcE-/s400/20160926_113846.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
11:50am - Olivia is done her paper schoolwork. Since it's almost lunch break, she just breaks early. She is loving her newly allowed privilege of cutting with a steak knife, so cut up Joshua some strawberries for lunch<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
12pm - lunch break! Also, mail call! Brianna got a card from the local organizer of the Terry Fox Run with this year's pin.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ZmIPTYHath6TV3rUhUiqprBztMgxXjZwVp0SUorUZ-y9JE7BQjJqB88i-VOv5_uFtuWily0o2ZTp1JkILp-SBqK-EZV2t4yIjTvcgefdHIEv9wrX5INnSYiRW93lJU9DOXKQOO8LV8QB/s1600/2016-09-26_12.07.46%255B1%255D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7ZmIPTYHath6TV3rUhUiqprBztMgxXjZwVp0SUorUZ-y9JE7BQjJqB88i-VOv5_uFtuWily0o2ZTp1JkILp-SBqK-EZV2t4yIjTvcgefdHIEv9wrX5INnSYiRW93lJU9DOXKQOO8LV8QB/s400/2016-09-26_12.07.46%255B1%255D.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
12:30pm - back to work. Brianna starts with a load of dishes, Olivia starts with her Reading Eggs and I get to work with Joshua's schoolwork.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFl1N7fEpyyenKAY4GvfbM-a_IX1x1mqnHVjmis4r_eb8Z_aoqbLqAAVXWfKfsbsHtolFAYHx0QYC93FFiMe_ExPCh-7zgtHFdX_EbQw6-V61jv9EvCZlqn6ENPKFuXEbInqny4hQ8s_-U/s1600/20160926_125646.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFl1N7fEpyyenKAY4GvfbM-a_IX1x1mqnHVjmis4r_eb8Z_aoqbLqAAVXWfKfsbsHtolFAYHx0QYC93FFiMe_ExPCh-7zgtHFdX_EbQw6-V61jv9EvCZlqn6ENPKFuXEbInqny4hQ8s_-U/s400/20160926_125646.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
1:10 pm - Joshua's (and Lee's lol) nap time means my work time. While the girls work on schoolwork and chores, I head up to my office to sew zippers and necklines into car seat ponchos. Right now is my bust season in general but also the only time of year I really sell car seat ponchos. So add prepping for Christmas sales and shows to roughly 40-50 ponchos means I'm pretty busy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
2:50pm - read aloud time. Today we are reading from our biology unit on respiration and our novel "The Family Under The Bridge".<br />
<br />
3:20pm - reading is done so I go to wake up Joshua. I find him napping under the bed, silly boy. Under-bed napping apparently makes a grumpy boy. Brianna tried to cheer him up some by making a train track for him.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
3:40pm - Olivia and I finished her apple experiment. It was her first long term science experiment so she was excited for it to finally be done.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY_GLgU-ctgZDx7Xnbdx0NO1w9fdRp3RGdHIJnzsoUQ5eF1L0FUfoOaq2zzI0ZNVhLfq1bI6YqkxNDcVEQU-NNYLqpBc_jOVjQ2XUaUZOMrrSD6DzmwVhu-Lj737abP2hipzUBZYcAmM4R/s1600/20160926_154526.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY_GLgU-ctgZDx7Xnbdx0NO1w9fdRp3RGdHIJnzsoUQ5eF1L0FUfoOaq2zzI0ZNVhLfq1bI6YqkxNDcVEQU-NNYLqpBc_jOVjQ2XUaUZOMrrSD6DzmwVhu-Lj737abP2hipzUBZYcAmM4R/s400/20160926_154526.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
4pm - school work and most chores are done. Electronics time for the girls. Olivia hides in a blanket for to play Minecraft and Brianna plays a bunch of games for Joshua (who wasn't terribly impressed with Brianna's track building skills and went back to being grumpy). I do some tidying up so I can get some freezer cooking done. When Joshua is finally less cranky, Brianna joins me to make <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/sausage-pepper-muffins-oamc-298937">Sausage Breakfast Muffins</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
6pm - Brianna got ready for Pathfinders and then researched how to tie her scarf properly. She was so proud to have figured it out! She noticed that the videos she found on youtube were using the older style scarf (uniforms changed recently), so once she perfects it, she plans to make a youtube video with the current uniform.<br />

<br />
<br />
6:30pm - Brianna is dropped off at Pathfinders. I come home and finish making the gazillion muffins (and ate about 348765 of them!). I manage to get Olivia to consume something of nutrients other than cereal (extreme picky issues here) - homemade apple honey oatmeal!<br />
<br />
8pm - Lee and I went to Brianna's Pathfinders meeting for parent planning. They announced the current planned international trip - ENGLAND! Mommy is massively jealous. In 2019, Brianna will be able to go to England for approximately a week with the Pathfinders and Rangers to the <a href="https://www.wagggs.org/en/our-world/world-centres/pax-lodge/">Pax Lodge</a>. Brianna is insanely nervous as she hates sleeping away from home, but in the next 3 years she will have a zillion opportunities to sleep away with Guides.<br />
<br />
8:50pm - back home. Joshua and Lee have gone to snuggle to bed. Olivia cleans the living room and Brianna started her garbage and dishes chores.<br />
<br />
8:55pm - for some reason, Brianna's alarm started randomly sounding. Why on earth it would be set for this time, who knows....<br />
<br />
9:30pm - bedtime! I tuck Olivia in, Joshua's still awake so I snuggle with him for a few. I send Brianna downstairs to write in her Pathfinders Journal and park my butt on the computer to veg out on facebook.<br />
<br />
10pm - Tell Brianna it's lights out.<br />
<br />
10:10pm - kick Lee off to work and hang out on my porch with the neighbour, talking about Brianna's England trip.<br />
<br />
10:40pm - I packed all the sausage muffins into freezer bags and found room for them in the freezer. That's a lot of freaking muffins!<br />
<br />
10:50pm - I feel sorry for my American friends after reading the aftermath of the Presidential Debate.<br />
<br />
11pm - I work on some online stuff for work, talking to customers, organizing coop buys.<br />
<br />
11:30pm - Well past my bedtime...<br />
<br />
Thanks for reading our newest Day in the Life post. I can't wait to read everyone else's on iHomeschool!</div>

<br />
We filled jars with air, water, oil and vinegar, then placed a quarter of an apple in each.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2CgQaSM631jbRicxttQOHNZPRbKArHzaPnCZXjLtirxbmv4ZVu8EmEkgLWc5ElGvVOoPFWW1gwootHxocrlu2Rii2WrSnhiw97er4YA_pA0iScBuTggzyXxelRwe76CCXjzWCpcY-H9nN/s1600/20160922_145105.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2CgQaSM631jbRicxttQOHNZPRbKArHzaPnCZXjLtirxbmv4ZVu8EmEkgLWc5ElGvVOoPFWW1gwootHxocrlu2Rii2WrSnhiw97er4YA_pA0iScBuTggzyXxelRwe76CCXjzWCpcY-H9nN/s400/20160922_145105.jpg" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Olivia made predictions of what would happen to each apple:<br />
<br />
Air - I predict it will turn rotten<br />
Water - I predict it will become soaked and mushy<br />
Oil - I predict it will be all messy and yuck<br />
Vinegar - I predict it will smell weird<br />
<br />

<br />
I forgot to take Day 4's picture but it was equally gross.<br />
<br />
Finally, Day 5. Olivia was excited to check out the final progress of her apples and see if her predictions were correct.<br />
